What's the difference between Management Accounts and Annual Financial Statements?

Management accounts are a set of accounts prepared for internal purposes. These would generally be done on a monthly basis along with quarterly and annual reports. These are for the internal management to review and understand the finances of the business .

Annual financial statements are a set of accounts that are required to be prepared in terms of the Companies Act and must comply with a set of accounting standards eg. IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
